I reinstall the game and I still can't validate the files. ![]() im expecting better things from the anno campaign then the mission islands in tropico. They are both fun games but I find Anno has much more longevity. For me at least, Anno 1800 has so much more versatility than Tropico 6. The only thing I like more about Tropico 5s customization is that you can edit your characters appearance in-game In Tropico 4, the characters appearance is. Tropico 5 focuses on your dynasty, not just 1 member of the dynasty, so no-ones personality is customized in-depth. Tropico 3/4 was the first Tropico game in a long time, and it was exciting to have a Tropico game again. Tropico 4 goes really in-depth with customizing your avatar. I found Tropico 5 fun, but not as fun as 6. Taking a look at each of the game store pages on steam we see this. It says 1 file failed to validated and will be reacquired. Tropico 6 is a great game but imo, Anno 1800 will be my go to game for quite a while. The choices seemed limited in many regards, building placement is more strict and on a grid, and the different era system - while cool - is ultimately expanded and handled better in 6. I click "verify integrity of game files". I tried disabling my second monitor (which some suggested would help) but it doesn't (the game a year ago used to work great on my system). I tried uninstalling absolute power and installing steam special edition.same deal. ![]() I press the 2nd play is "Preparing to Launch Tropico 3" and it crashes again. I'm asked to copy the key to clipboard again. Then the dialogue vanishes and I think crashes. Then it goes through performing first time setup including installing direct X. I click that and it says preparing to launch. When I click "play", I get a prompt to copy my "steam special edition cd key" to clipboard. I tried install absolute power today.no luck. Voodoo's scenario is meh, its trait isn't that useful and fairly niche, but its building is an incredibly good tourist attraction.I've seen several references to the game not being able to veral posters suggested this might be fixed but I'm not seeing that. Hey, Well i got the demo and could barely run it with massive lag. I enjoy the whole city sim type games and having it placed on some dictator-ruled tropical island seems like a fun alteration of the usual formula. How can you be dictator without labor camps? So as the title says, both Tropico 4 and 3 are on sale on Steam right now (the complete packages IIRC) and Ive been interested in this series for a while now. Vigilante's scenario is meh, its trait is both not too good and very niche, but its building is a must-have because it's a labor camp. limit of 1 chemical factory, and speeds up all constructions). ![]() Quick Dry Cement's scenario is pretty lackluster, but their trait is quite interesting, and the new building is borderline overpowered (it's a factory that doesn't need raw resources or electricity, has a limit of 5 vs. Propaganda's scenario is quite hilarious, but everything else sucks in that DLC. Plantador's scenario is pretty neat, its trait isn't too useful, but its building is incredibly useful, even with Modern Times' Bio Farm. Results 1 to 29 of 29 Thread: So, Tropico 3, 4, or 5 Thread Tools, 08:06 PM (ISO 8601) Spoilers - Top - End - 1 WinterWolf Ogre in the Playground Join Date Jun 2005 Location Oz county Gender So, Tropico 3, 4, or 5 Last time I played Tropico, it was 3 Gold, and it was pretty entertaining for a while. My opinion on 'old' Tropico (3 and 4) vs 'new' Tropico (5 and 6) This is honestly just kind of a rant rather than an educated comparison But you know I'm just going to say it, I really miss how Tropico 4 felt and played. ![]() Pirate Heaven's scenario, trait, and building are all interesting and useful, but not overpowered this one's definitely one of the better ones. 1st - Tropico 5 has you guide your island through different eras with significant differences between them in terms of what buildings are available and a common theme of upgrading your island as you move from epic to epic. Megalopolis' scenario is OK, its building is kind of useless, and its trait is interesting, but also kind of pointless when you could just as easily choose Administrator. There are three really big conceptual differences. Junta's trait is super boring, its building is also quite boring but occasionally useful, but its scenario is pretty good. The Academy's scenario and trait are quite boring, but its building is occasionally useful.Īpocalypse's building is kind of boring, but its scenario is excellent and its trait is quite interesting, though a bit niche in use. The other DLC's only add a single scenario, a new building, a new trait, and maybe a few decorations (plus a new map as well sometimes, but I can't really comment on those). Modern Times is the best of the bunch due to adding a tech timeline, random events, completely new buildings, workmodes, and edicts that are suited for a more modern era, etc. The DLC's range in quality with the exception of Modern Times however (and possibly the pirate one), none of them are worth their full price.
